Ladders Simple And Effective, And Could Save Your Life One Day.

Posted on July 25, 2010 by Allie

One of mankind s simplest but most useful inventions, the ladder- little more than a set of portable steps- is used throughout the world by everyone from DIY enthusiasts to fire fighters. The ladder design has been improved over the years but never changes. The steps, or rungs, are suspended between two vertical bars called stiles. They can be wooden, metal, or pretty much anything durable. Aluminium is often used at is is a very lightweight metal. Rope ladders are less easy to climb but can be rolled up, making them perfect for military or camping applications. Some people with mild vertigo find climbing a ladder a scary experience and will not go high; whereas an experienced user can slide down a ladder without even touching a rung. Ladders come in a fair variety, starting of course with the traditional fixed ladder. Extension ladders are very popular, basically several ladders attached together so that they can be unfixed and slide into one thick ladder for transport. Fire services famously employ these ladders...

An Education In The Arts

Posted on May 18, 2010 by Rina

For some people art is just something you put on your refrigerator doors. It is something you have to do for schoolwork, or to while your time away. In truth, there truly is something beneath the surface of art that will tantalize every student and teacher. And this is the truth behind art education. Art Education is the means by which a student gains an understanding of form and design. An education in the arts is typically divided into three areas - the fine arts, such as music, drama, sculpture or painting, the general arts, programs such as education, criminology, etc, and design, such as graphic design, web design, or interior design. Art has a great power to influence people. It also has a significant effect on the history of man. Art may seem like it is just something pretty, but under the hood it boasts of a pretty powerful engine. One that has shaped the world, and indeed your very life. You can t go one day in the span of your life without being exposed to some form of artistic design, from the A wise man...

Anniversary Gifts - Following The Traditional Anniversary Gift List

Posted on April 6, 2010 by Chanel

People love to celebrate anniversaries, being together another year shows that they truly love each other and they continue to strengthen the bonds and celebrate their union year after year. A lot of couples celebrate this special occasion by giving gifts to each other that symbolizes their anniversary, like paper for the 1st year and leather for the 5th year. Although following the Traditional Anniversary Gift List can sound easy at first, but it can be very difficult and frustrating trying to follow the list for some years. Sure the Silver, Golden and Diamond anniversaries are easy, its pretty well spelled out. But what about anniversaries like the Paper 1st anniversary or Steel 11th anniversary. These can be difficult for a woman and almost impossible for a man shopping for the perfect gift that will show their love and appreciation of their partner. So with the summer months which are the busy season for weddings and anniversaries approaching fast I thought this would be a good time to start covering each of the...

My Office - Behind The Plate.

Posted on February 2, 2010 by Francine

I loved catching - I had the whole game in front of me. I could see everything. Placing the fielders was my job. Seeing whether long fly balls were fair or foul. What the pitcher had or lacked, I saw, as well. Did the pitcher need a break in the action because he was tired. If he did I would pay a little visit to the mound. The general on the field is what I was. A direct link to the coach. Switching to catcher was the best thing I did as a player. I had so much fun behind the plate. My office was behind the plate. Having played all the other positions was great, but I felt the best place to be, was catching. I could cash in on all the activity that was in front of me. I had an opportunity to shape the game. I had power in my office that I did not have anywhere else on the field except for maybe pitching. I loved that responsibility. Seeing a batter leaning one way and then calling the pitch that I thought would get him out was one strategy I successfully used. Striking out a batter was a joint effort between the...

How To Protest The Online Gambling Ban

Posted on December 10, 2009 by Ernest

Protesting the government is not a cast of protesting a company because you do not like a product, this is a case of you trying to change the mind of the government and this can be hard to do, but it can be done. Before you can even have a chance at holding a successful protest the first thing you should do is to circulate an online petition, this will give you an idea of how many people support your cause and gives you a list of names with phone numbers that you can call to get people to come to your protest. The next step is to go online and find other groups protesting the new internet gambling act, and see if that group would be willing to join your protest, the more people protesting the online gambling ban the better the chances are of getting the law reversed. After this you should start a letter writing campaign not only to your local congressmen but to all the Congressmen and see where they stand. Some of them will not be in support of the online gambling ban and will be willing to not only sign your...

Model-based Tuning Methods For Pid Controllers

Posted on October 24, 2009 by Danika

The manner in which a measured process variable responds over time to changes in the controller output signal is fundamental to the design and tuning of a PID controller. The best way to learn about the dynamic behavior of a process is to perform experiments, commonly referred to as bump tests. Critical to success is that the process data generated by the bump test be descriptive of actual process behavior. Discussed are the qualities required for good dynamic data and methods for modeling the dynamic data for controller design. Parameters from the dynamic model are not only used in correlations to compute tuning values, but also provide insight into controller design parameters such as loop sample time and whether dead time presents a performance challenge. It is becoming increasingly common for dynamic studies to be performed with the controller in automatic closed loop . For closed loop studies, the dynamic data is generated by bumping the set point. The method for using closed loop data is illustrated. Concepts...

If you want to have time to enjoy the next party you throw, try this tip: Create a party theme that keeps your guests engaged. The key to a successful party is to come up with a theme that allows guests to participate and interact with others. This keeps party-goers entertained, taking the pressure off you, the host. Here are a few popular themes that are easy to plan and can help keep you and your guests in good spirits. Around the World Plan a themed party that incorporates distinctive elements of a culture or country. For instance, you could transform your space into an Italian villa by playing Italian music, displaying photography of Italy and serving appetizers with an Italian flair-such as bruschetta and antipasto. You could even decorate using fresh lemons and oranges scattered around the house in large bowls and glass vases. A spa-themed party is a popular entertaining idea. You can easily transform your space into small, semiprivate relaxation areas. Offer manicures and pedicures along with back and...
